Although Gracie Jiu-Jitsu consists of over 600 techniques, studies of the fights conducted by members of the Gracie Family have shown that 36 techniques have been used more often, and with greater success, than all the others combined. Originally developed for the U.S. Army, Gracie Combatives is the only course that entirely dedicated to the mastery of these 36 essential techniques. After students perfects all the Gracie Combatives techniques individually, they qualify to participate in weekly Reflex Development Classes were they learn how to execute them in various combinations. Once a student masters all the techniques in every combination, they qualify to be tested for promotion to blue belt.

Little Champs (Ages 5-7)£30/Month
2x/Week

The Little Champs program is for kids 5-7 years old (we offer private lessons for children ages 3-4). Using our time-tested “Gracie Games,” we teach the Little Champs basic self-defense techniques while instilling the foundational principles of leverage and control. The secret to the success of this program is that we make the lessons so fun that the kids beg for more! Once a child masters all ten Gracie Games, they advance to the Jr. Grapplers program.

Robert Dixon

Robert Dixon

Rob Dixon is an established Martial Arts Instructor with 30 years experience. He began learning Martial Arts at the age of 11, obtaining a black belt in Bujinkai Karate by the age of 17. He currently holds the rank of 5th Dan in Karate. Around 2006, he developed a strong interest in submission grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and realizing how effective it was, began learning some fundamental techniques, initially just to pass on to his own students. This journey led to the discovery of The Gracie Academy Instructor Certification Program, culminating in Rob completing the course at Gracie Academy HQ in Jan 2012. Rob is now keen to share Gracie Jiu Jitsu with as many people as possible, through his classes at his established Martial Arts Centre.

Richard Porter

Richard Porter

Originally a student of Bujinkai Karate, Richard switched his focus to Gracie Jiu Jitsu, when he realised how simple but highly effective the natural movements were for his body. “ I really feel that if I can do the techniques in Gracie Combatives, then anybody can, and I want to share this knowledge with as many people as possible” comments Richard. After passing his blue belt with Gracie Academy, Richard completed the Instructors course in January 2014, and currently teaches the Gracie Combatives curriculum and the Gracie Bullyproof curriculum.
