With self-confidence, a child can do anything and without it every task is a burden because they question their potential every step of the way. Bullying is considered by many to be the leading cause of low self-confidence and the problem is that although nearly every child experiences it, less than 15% of them actually report it. In most cases, bullies will persist as long as they feel that the other children are scared of them, and the longer the bullying lasts, the greater the psychological damage will be on the victim. The only guaranteed way for children to prevent bullies from targeting them is to stand up for themselves. The objective at the Gracie Academy is to teach the children how to defuse the situation with words, how to stand up for themselves, and ultimately how to defeat bullies head-on when the situation calls for it. Along with increased self-confidence, children develop greater discipline and respect for in the fun yet controlled setting of each class.

There is no better way to educate or motivate than through positive affirmation. Our programs are structured so that the children know exactly how many classes they need to attend, what they must learn and how they must behave in order get there next belt promotion. The most important effect this has on the children is that it teaches them that disciplined and dedicated effort ALWAYS brings positive results. As any parent should already know, this kind of persevering mindset will ensure a prosperous school, work, and social life more than any other single factor.

Little Champs (5-7 Years Old) "Start them young and they’ll thank you when they’re old"

Within the Gracie Family, the children are started in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu at such a young age, and taught in such a fun relaxed way, that they hardly realize the importance of the process. This is precisely what we try to do with the kids in the Little Champs program. Our initial objective is to befriend each and every child and to make every class a fun experience, this way the children will enjoy attending class every week. In this program, the children acquire the skills to defend themselves against bullies as well as perfect the techniques that will serve as the foundation for their success in the Jr. Grapplers program.

Jr. Grapplers (8-14 Years Old) "Empower your child when they need it most"

It is reasonable to say that there is nothing more chaotic, unpredictable, stressful and potentially dangerous than a street fight. With this said, any children, who taught the skills to handle such a problematic situation will experience a dramatic increase in self-confidence that can be acquired nowhere else. The best part about this newly found confidence is that it will positively affect all areas of their lives giving them a “head start” that will bring immeasurable results. Children who complete this program and perfect the techniques will qualify to go to the Advanced Kids program

Advanced Kids Gracie Jiu-Jitsu

Kids in the Advance Program will have already perfected the fundamental techniques and have developed the discipline and focus necessary to learn more advanced techniques. The final objective at this level is to prepare the children for a smooth transition into the Gracie Combatives adult program.
