GRACIE COMBATIVES™ Blue Belt Program
Recommended for all New Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Students

The Gracie Combatives™ course is based on the 36 most important techniques of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Designed by Rorion Gracie specifically for the U.S. Army, the objective of this program is to give any student, man or woman, big or small, the most realistic effectiveness in the shortest period of time. The 36 techniques have been broken down into 23 different classes. No experience is necessary to participate in any of the 23 Gracie Combatives classes making it the ideal course for students with unpredictable or busy schedules. Once each of the 23 classes is completed three times and completed 12 Reflex Development classes, the course is considered completed and the student is qualified to move on to the Advanced Gracie Jiu-Jitsu program. Students are promoted, one degree at a time, based on their technique retention and disciplined class attendance until they achieve thier blue belt. Each student who commits to this course will acquire, in the shortest time possible, the skills they will need to protect themselves and their loved ones in the unpredictable and dangerous world we live in.

ADVANCED Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Program
Learn it All, Perfect the Art, Become a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is the fastest growing martial art for one simple reason-it enables an ordinary person to defeat larger and stronger attacker with striking regularity. The question is how large of an opponent does it work on? The answer to this question depends on two variables: First, how well does the student understand the Gracie Combatives Techniques and Second, how specialized is the student’s understanding of each position of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. In other words, besides having a strong foundation, the most important factor in determining how large of an opponent the techniques will work on is the level of mastery the student has acquired in each position.

The purpose of the Advanced Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Program is to build on the solid foundation of the Gracie Combatives Techniques by conducting courses that will enable the students to learn and perfect all the intricacies from every position or problematic situation they will encounter. In the Fight Simulation Classes, students put their techniques to the test against explosive, striking, chaotic opponents so that they know first hand what they need to work on to be better prepare themselves for a real street fight. By continuously increasing their specialization, each advanced student qualifies to be promoted in the following order: Blue Belt, Purple Belt, Brown Belt and ultimately Black Belt.

Kids Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Program (5-13 Years Old)

With self-confidence, a child can do anything and without it every task is a burden because they question their potential every step of the way. Bullying is considered by many to be the leading cause of low self-confidence and the problem is that although nearly every child experiences it, less than 15% of them actually report it. In most cases, bullies will persist as long as they feel that the other children are scared of them, and the longer the bullying lasts, the greater the psychological damage will be on the victim. The only guaranteed way for children to prevent bullies from targeting them is to stand up for themselves. The objective at the Gracie Academy is to teach the children how to defuse the situation with words, how to stand up for themselves, and ultimately how to defeat bullies head- on when the situation calls for it. Along with increased self-confidence, children develop greater discipline and respect in the fun and controlled setting of each class.

Our programs are structured so that the children know exactly how many classes they need to attend, what they must learn and how they must behave in order get there next belt promotion. The most important effect this has on the children is that it teaches them that disciplined and dedicated effort ALWAYS brings positive results. As any parent should already know, this kind of persevering mindset will ensure a prosperous school, work, and social life more than any other single factor.

SHORT TERM GROUP CLASS OPTIONS

These are the standard group class rates for any individual NOT enrolled in one of the 12 month programs listed above.

Any student enrolled in a short term training program will qualify to participate in the Gracie Combatives Classes. Although the techniques shown in the Gracie Combatives Classes are the most important techniques of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, no experience is necessary for participation in these classes, making them the perfect training option for any jiu-jitsu student-new or old. Any advanced jiu-jitsu students visiting the Gracie Academy will be evaluated upon arrival to see whether or not they qualify to participate in the Advanced Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Classes.

PRIVATE CLASS OPTIONS

The group class programs at the Gracie Academy were designed specifically so that anyone, regardless of their experience, could participate. Here is a list of some of the major benefits of our group classes.

• No Experience Necessary: The Group Classes are structured in such a way that any new student who participates in them can do so without any previous knowledge or martial arts experience and still reap the full benefits. They will begin seeing major results from their very first class.
• Flexible Schedule: Since many of our students have very unpredictable work schedules, we structured our programs to make it possible for students to attend group classes whenever it is convenient for them without worrying about scheduling their attendance in advance.
• Unbeatable Price: Group Class Programs are setup for students to attend class as much as they want for fixed price-the more they train, the better the deal!
• Different Body Types : Since you can’t choose your opponent in a street fight, Group Classes are structured so that students are given the opportunity to practice and perfect their techniques on a different partner every class. This will help ensure that they are prepared for any opponent they may encounter.
• Fastest Learning Curve: Because the techniques presented and taught in the Group Classes are exactly the same as those taught in Private Classes and the quantity of Group Classes we offer each month is so high, any student who commits to regular attendance in the Group Class Program has the highest potential to learn the techniques in the shortest amount of time.
• Join the Family: Along with developing the most effective self-defense programs in the world, the Gracie Academy prides itself in creating a safe and friendly environment where students are encouraged to work with each other, instead of against each other, towards Gracie Jiu-Jitsu mastery. All students are required to treat each other with the utmost courtesy and respect to make sure that the friendly family environment is forever maintained.

Even though group classes are the best option for most of our students, there are some special circumstances in which private classes would be the best option. They are the following:

1. Distance: Many students at the Gracie Academy drive over 1 hour to attend class and as a result they have trouble attending class more than once a week. Private Classes are ideal in this situation since they will ensure that the student maximizes their time on the mat and progresses at a reasonable rate
2. Scheduling: Some people have very unique work schedules that prevent them from being able to commit to more that one class a week of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and since Private Classes can be scheduled for virtually any time of the day, they are a great solution.
3. Disability: Since Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is designed to help the small, weak and out of shape, men, women and children of the world, the Group Classes were structured specifically so that anyone can participate regardless of their size, strength or even previous injuries. Sometimes however, a student has some type of learning disability that prevents them from fully benefiting from the Group Classes in which case the Private Classes would work much better.
