R-10 Finally Gets a Name

March 1, 2009

Born on October 9, 2008, the tenth child of Rorion Gracie spent approximately three months without a name. Rorion believes, as did his father, that a person's name has a significant impact on the development of the character traces of the individual. Therefore, the process of naming a child is of utmost importance and should not be rushed. He starts with the visualization of one or two character traits that he would like to project onto the new born. In R10's case, the traits were integrity and courage. So, he took the letter "R", which, according to Grand Masters Carlos and Helio Gracie, is a very powerful letter, and combined it with the first two letters from "integrity" and "courage" to make Ricon, pronounced "Hee-con".
