Humanitarian Award for Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Solana Bea

Every year the" Masters Hall of Fame" promotes excellence in the Martial Arts and recognizes exceptional Leaders and Legends through Induction into the Masters Hall of Fame. Inductees are a cross section of the Martial Arts community from Police and Military Leaders, to Martial Arts Legends and Karate Champions.This year's event took place on June, 22, 2013 at the OC Hilton in Costa Mesa, Ca.

Mario Schapp, a certified instructor at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Solana Beach had the honor to be recognized for his dedication to teaching Martial Arts to the Blind Community and his support for the Adaptive Martial Arts. Since 2005, he provides free martial arts training to members of the Blind Community in San Diego on a regular basis. Mario has embraced Gracie Jiu-Jitsu as the most reliable self-defense component for his program. Today, the students at Blind Community Martial Arts San Diego have the opportunity to learn Gracie Combatives, as well as traditional Karate. Mario was nominated for the Humanitarian Award by Sensei William Ford of Kaizen Dojo Torrance, who is one of the Ambassadors of the Masters Hall Of Fame.
