Gracie Diet Tip: Losing Weight

The Gracie Diet was not developed for losing weight, but to improve overall health. With that said and assuming you are following the correct food combination guidelines, here are some things you can do to shed some pounds off.

1. Eat only 3 meals per day.
2. Space your meals at least 4.5 hours apart.
3. Develop the habit of leaving the table 85% full instead of stuffing yourself 100% at every meal.
4. One of your meals should be only one kind of fruit (ie. bananas, cantaloupe, pears, etc.)
5. Create a daily exercise routine, even if it is only for 20 minutes in your living room.
6. Avoid fried foods, sugar, fats and refined starches.
7. No snacks or drinks of any kind in between meals. Only water.

Finally, keep in mind that we should eat to live, not live to eat! At every meal, remind yourself that you are reeducating yourself by changing your eating habits. This will not be easy since eating is one of the great pleasures of life for most people but is a great way for you to get to know yourself on a deeper level (It is like being alone for a long period of time; your thoughts will make you grow).

Every time you can say no to a food that tastes good, but is not good for your health, you will strengthen your discipline beyond belief and with that, you can accomplish anything! This is the hidden benefit of the Gracie Diet.
